Bill was born and raised in Herkimer, NY. He graduated from Herkimer High School in 2002. Bill went on to graduate from the University of Southern California (BA, Political Science), SUNYIT (BS, Applied Mathematics), and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (MSc., Bioscience).
Bill has experience working in many fields including the Education, Oil and Energy, Environmental Protection, Restaurant and Construction industries. Most recently, Bill lived in Saudi Arabia and worked at the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) as an Environmental Scientist. He worked to restore degraded mangrove and coral reef habitats, raised awareness of environmental issues throughout the Kingdom, served as a member of the Global Oil Spill Response Team, and audited environmental compliance of multiple projects and facilities.
Bill has been very active in his community and has always stepped up as a leader. He was elected the first non-Arab President of the KAUST Graduate Student Council, served as Treasurer for the Society of Advocates and Volunteers for the Environment, and was the President of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. He was a member of the Environmental Technology and Management Association, Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity and Teach for America, South Louisiana (2006 Corps).
He currently resides in Syracuse with his husband, Umair and their dog Blanca.
